The Annual Atlas Payroll Workshop Is Back!

After increased demand from our customers, we are pleased to announce that the Atlas Annual Payroll Workshop is back!

The AAPW is aimed at anyone currently running Access Payroll who feels they would benefit from help in the following areas ahead of the Payroll year end in April:

  • Guidance and advice on the new 2010/2011 rules and legislation
  • Refresher training on how to apply the Access Payroll upgrade
  • Training or re-training on the year end procedure (printing P45’s, holiday year end, electronic HMRC submissions)
  • Overview guides to the new Payroll software features and hints and tips you might not be aware of

In the past these events have been a great success and everyone who has attended them has found that their Payroll year end has run much more smoothly as a result. Covering just half a day, they are a great way to arm yourselves against the hustle and bustle of typical Payroll year end procedures, well ahead of time.

Events will be running at the following offices on the following dates:

Leeds - Tuesday 16th March

Glasgow - Thursday 18th March

Nantwich (Cheshire) - Tuesday 23rd March

As well as taking our users through the above payroll procedures, we'll also be taking the time to discuss some other issues that normally arise at this time of year. We've been taking suggestions from our users on what topics they would like to see covered and this year will see us briefly cover the following issues, amongst others:

  • Staff appraisals
  • Recruitment
  • Training requirements
  • Attribute matching
  • Organisation charts
  • Absence tracking
  • Timesheet management
  • Rostering / scheduling
  • Employee HR Record self service
  • Qualifications
  • Expenses
  • Vehicle & Equipment management

The events take just half a day (9.30am till 1.30pm) and are all led by our highly experienced trainers and payroll experts. After the events, members of the customer care department and account managers will be standing by to have informal one-to-one discussions if there is anything else you wish to talk to us about.

The event was only launched yesterday and already we've booked several companies and attendees on to the events so don't miss out on what is always a popular course.

To book, fill out the registration form through this link, give the sales department a call on 0333 666 3330 or drop them an email @ sales@atlasbiz.com

Was Your Business Heart Broken On Valentines?

In a bit of guest blogging over Valentine's Day, our Technical Director, Gary and Sales Manager, Joe, have combined to write a love letter to the humble (but vital) database...

Dear database administrator,

Over the years we have built a long and trusting relationship. You have been generous providing me with plenty of information and I have rewarded you by complying with legal regulations, helping you to make informed management decisions, allowing you to spot trends, monitor performance and allow your team to perform efficiently. However, recently I have felt somewhat neglected. You don’t back me up as much as you used to, and when was the last time you gave me a test restore?

I'm feeling somewhat corrupted.

Good bye

Your vital database

No one likes feeling neglected especially around Valentine but what part of your business is needed but not appreciated until it is too late?

BACKUPS.

Try answering the following questions. If you can't answer them all off the top of your head then it might be worth spending some quality time with your database.

Who within your organisation is responsible for this very important task?
Does that person actually check the backup has successfully completed?
Who is responsible for backups when the main person is away?
Do you backup every day?
Do you verify the backup?
Do you actually know what is being backed up?
Are any changes to your system backed up?
Have you ever tried a restore from your backup?
Do you take the backup media off site?
Do you rotate your backup media?

If you love your business you should love your backup.

So now that all the fuss is over and you and your database have kissed and made up, perhaps it's time to get some professional relationship advice to ensure this doesn't happen again?

Atlas have a team of technical consultants that would love to assist. We are just a call away and are willing to discuss your existing practices and where necessary can offer improvements.

We have recommended software solutions, hardware tools and even an automated online scheduled service that can store backups at our remote secret nuclear bunker facility.

PRESS RELEASE

Reorganisation of Atlas Business Group for our Growth Strategy through 2010 and Beyond

Following solid trading results showing about 50% growth in revenues for the year 2009, Atlas Business has reorganised the company group structure to enhance and focus strategically our targeted business performance through 2010 and beyond.

Atlas Business plc has changed name to Atlas Business Group of Companies plc and moved its focus towards overall management of the whole Group. This is effective from 1 February 2010.

A newly formed subsidiary Atlas Business Software & Technologies Ltd has assumed responsibility for most of the trading activities formerly carried out under the Atlas Business plc name.

C2 internet Ltd which became wholly owned by Atlas Business on 1 January 2009 has also now changed name to C2 Business Networking Ltd and in addition to its traditional ISP function will expand to embrace the technical systems management, hosting and networking interests of Atlas Business.

Redcliffe CSN Ltd in Leeds and Sanders Jones (Scotland) Ltd in Glasgow retain their current trading names and services to clients.

The Directors of Atlas Business are confident that this streamlining of the organisation will enable the Group to further develop and enhance the services provided to all of the many valued clients of our businesses.
